Blowback (2008)
Blowback is inspired by the life and death of Edie Sedgwick, a pop-culture maven and former muse of Andy Warhol. It explores the worlds of Rock 'n' Roll, excess and vanity while stripping naked that secret need for love, attention, and what our subconscious locks away. Blowback uses memory as a vehicle for interrogating reality. Is memory the poorest way to preserve fact, and where does memory exist in the body, in movement, in our sense of identity in the world? Is our projection the culmination of experience or do we curate ourselves into a numbing oblivion?
